I'm Chelsey. Since I was a little girl, I'd always dreamed of owning my own business, with a passion deeply rooted in my love for nature and cultivated by my family. I officially began my business in 2008. Busy Bee Garden Center started with one little greenhouse and has grown into an award-winning garden center that attracts gardeners from across the Midwest. Now, we want to showcase our talents in a new way by creating a beautiful space for people to gather and make memories.

The Hive is nestled in the rolling hills of Iowa, directly between Indianola and Des Moines on Highway 65/69; bordered by the stunningly natural landscape of Banner Lakes at Summerset State Park. The surrounding lakes and wooded acres create the perfect backdrop for your photos. The Hive is conveniently located within minutes of the Des Moines International Airport, popular hotel accommodations and Downtown Des Moines. Downtown Des Moines offers a variety of cuisine, several parks and trails, the Downtown Farmer’s Market (May-October), and a vibrant night life scene.

The Hive is over 8,000 square feet of event space on six private, professionally-landscaped acres. The Amish-built building features vaulted ceilings, a bride's suite and groom’s lounge, a caterer’s kitchen, and a graceful, relaxed outdoor space for gatherings, weddings, and meetings. The event space and amenities are all on one level, so it’s easily accessible for all of your guests.
